Whether you want to go full speed ahead or “paddle” around, summer on the Diamond Lakes is the place to escape for much needed fun and sun. The five Diamond Lakes of Ouachita, DeGray, Greeson, Hamilton and Catherine together provide more than 57,000 acres of sparkling clear water entertainment!
The largest of the Diamond Lakes is Lake Ouachita, surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. It is one of the clearest lakes in the world. As a Corps of Engineers lake, development is not allowed on the shores. When you are done in the water, boat over to one of hundreds of islands to explore.
Lake Hamilton is located in Hot Springs, which makes it a perfect water destination for visitors. This is the lake seen from every guest room at Lookout Point! You can rent a boat for tubing, skiing, or anchoring in a quiet cove. Take out Lookout Point’s canoe for a paddle in the bay, or viewing the mansions down the point.
Enjoy the smaller of the Diamond Lakes, Catherine, by visiting Lake Catherine State Park for rentals. Lake Catherine may be small but it is not lacking in peaceful beauty. Lake Catherine is located just outside Hot Springs and has numerous family friendly activities such as beach swimming area, paddle boat rentals, canoe rentals, and boat rentals.
