Paddle 4 The Planet, April 26 on Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs

Lookout Point Lakeside Inn is proud to be a sponsor of the first annual Paddle 4 the Planet, to be held on April 26, 8am-10am. Imagine 350 canoes and kayaks paddling on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Natural State, to promote environmental awareness and stewardship. For years the mantra of the environmental movement has been to “Think Globally and Act Locally.” That’s exactly what this event is all about–acting locally to increase awareness of our stunning Arkansas waterways.

You don’t need to bring your own canoe or kayak: the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism are providing these free of charge. Cost to participate is $7 ($2 for carbon offsets and $5 for one day membership in the AR Canoe Association, to provide liability insurance for the day).

Please consider joining Ray, our family, and me in Paddling 4 the Planet! We’ll depart from Entergy Park, and paddle to the Hwy 7 causeway. Not only will the event be fun and we’ll get some exercise, but we’ll be raising awareness of the issues facing our lakes and rivers throughout the region.

If you stay at Lookut Point for two nights over this April 26th event, we’ll even pay and take care of your registration to partcipate in Paddle4The Planet. For more information, go to We’ll even pack a “to go” breakfast for you.

Thanks so much for considering! Simply call the inn to make a reservation, and tell us that you want to participate in Paddle 4 The Planet.
