Music Fills the Air in Arkansas :: Hot Springs Music Festival

For me, music calms my soul, clears my mind and rejuvenates my heart. So, when the annual Hot Springs Music Festival comes along each year, I look forward to listening to some great music in interesting venues. We are also honored to be sponsors of the Festival again this year.
This is the 20th season for the Festival, May 31-June 13, and includes celebrating the joy of classical music in a multitude of venues with very talented musicians from around t he world. This is one of my favorite music events in Hot Springs. I look forward to it every year!
This Festival is quite unique in purpose and is two-fold in its mission.Hot Springs Music Festival The Festival provides performance experience and mentorship opportunities for especially talented international pre-professional musicians and it provides high-quality music performances and performing art-related activities at reasonable cost to residents of and visitors to Arkansas and the Hot Springs community. Patrons of the Festival can come for the entire two weeks and purchase a Festival Pass or attend as many individual events as desired. All of the rehearsals are free and open to the public. The venues are as varied as the Opening Fanfare at the Arlington Hotel with the Festival Brass Ensemble to the Festival Symphony Orchestra performing at the Oaklawn School for Visual and Performing Arts. There is even music at the Farmers Market on two Saturdays.

Where to Watch Live Theater in Hot Springs AR

top theaters in hot springs arThere is a magical pleasure in seeing a live performance, and we’re excited to have three theaters in town that really present quality entertainment.

Maxwell Blade’s Theater of Magic goes beyond the illusion to present a show that is fun for all ages. With an interactive stage presence, Maxwell Blade presents magic to audiences with a sense of wonder. The show consists of illusions that dazzle and comedy that will keep you laughing. For nearly 18 years, Blade has been honing his show, adding new effects and pushing himself to be better for each season. Leave reality behind and relish the magic!

Five Star Dinner Theater in Hot Springs, AR is a newer addition to the list, with entertainment that varies from plays like Driving Miss Daisy to tribute musicians. The food is catered in by Porterhouse, which is located next door, but guests are more than welcome to dine elsewhere and enjoy the show at Five Star. You’ll be in for a delight.

The theater closest to the Inn is the Pocket Theater. This community theater in Hot Springs, AR is a non-profit organization, and all the actors are volunteers. They do a wide variety of different plays—from Steel Magnolias to Annie Get Your Gun and everywhere in between. In the beginning of April, they will be featuring Over the River and Through the Woods. This comedy is sure to keep you amused!
