February 9th, 2017 by Ray Rosset

Alfonso RibeiroThe 14th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17 is always a zany, hilarious blast! Come see the Alfonso Ribiero (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Dancing With the Stars, plus America’s Funniest Videos) as Grand Marshall! This parade is wild proof that Hot Springs does not take itself too seriously.

In addition to Alfonso, you’ll see the world-renowned Clydesdales sponsored by Express Employment Professionals as a new addition to the parade. Of course, returning are the Irish Elvis impersonators, green Irish wolfhounds, marching units such as Paddy O’Furniture, Irish belly dancers and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.Cheerleader at Hot Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade

Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs, said: “The Clydesdales will be pulling a beautiful custom-designed stagecoach, which will make their participation that much more thrilling for the 30,000 parade-goers. These magnificent animals will be a wonderful addition to what is already recognized as one of the best St. Patrick’s Day parades in the world.”

The Clydesdales are most famous for escorting William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, during their recent visit to North America. These Clydesdales are a rare black and white color and stand 17 to 18 hands high weighing more than 2,000 pounds. While this breed usually varies in different shades of bay, chestnut and black, only 10 percent of the Clydesdale population in North America is black and white.Leprechaun at Hot Springs parade

Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade :: Hot Springs Fun

February 19th, 2015 by Kristie Rosset

Officially known as the First Ever 12th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, this wildly fun and crazy event meets NASCAR next month. Mark Martin, NASCAR legend, has agreed to be the 2015 Grand Marshall. He’ll bring his famous No. 01 U.S. Army race car, on display for two days at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

The parade begins at 6:30pm on March 17, however you’ll want to get there early for a good vantage spot. Since the parade is only 98 feet long–the entire length of Bridge Street–it’s a hoot to watch band members start playing at the beginning of Bridge Street and then stop at the end.

At the parade you’ll see Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, Elvis impersonators, marching Irish wolfhounds, bands, floats, and all sorts of odd and goofy groups. Following the parade, the Swon Brothers perform a free outdoor concert.

This parade provides a perfectly fun setting to wear your green and celebrate with 30,000 “Irish” friends. We’d love to welcome you to our Hot Springs bed & breakfast, and we’ll gladly provide best tips for parking and viewing the parade.
