After all the holiday glitter has been put away and we vow to eat less and exercise more in 2016, horse racing season starts in the middle of January in Hot Springs. Horse racing at Oaklawn Racetrack in Hot Springs, Arkansas is one of the most exciting Hot Springs events that happens all year. The 2016 racing season begins January 15 and runs through April 16. Last year’s winner of the Arkansas Derby, gorgeous American Pharoah, went on the win the Triple Crown!
Attending the races is an event our entire family loves, including our grandchildren. We spend a few days each season with our family and friends at the races, with lots of laughter and excitement. Getting so close to these beautiful animals inspires awe. Plus the food at Oaklawn Racetrack is delicious, the atmosphere electric and the horse racing exhilarating.
Races take place four to five days each week, with the calendar on Oaklawn’s website. The attendance at Oaklawn is the envy of most tracks around the country!
Part of the fun of coming to Hot Springs for horse racing is completing the weekend by staying with us at our top rated Hot Springs, AR bed and breakfast.
