How to Celebrate the New Year in Hot Springs AR

December 8th, 2015 by Jenna Tackett

New Year Hot Springs ARIn Hot Springs AR, there are several festive events to help you celebrate the start of a new year, but sometimes the best way to appreciate a new beginning is to spend it in a peaceful, quiet setting. Here are three of our favorite tips to help you start your year on the right note!

  1. Quality over quantity — The most important part of celebrating the new year is making sure that you are surrounded by people who make you feel happy and secure. The smaller the number of those around, the more meaningful those interactions will be. This is definitely the time to get away with loved ones and concentrate on your relationships!
  2. Create a new tradition — When I was younger, my family would shoot fireworks on New Year’s Eve; later, we would rush outside to hit pots and pans when the clock struck midnight. Now, however, we prefer things a little quieter. We spend the evening with snack food–popcorn and cookies are a sure staple–and watching some of our favorite movies. With the limited numbers that attend the marathon, each person gets to choose a movie to share with the group. It creates a shared experience, both new and old, and helps us start the new year with a deeper connection. And that’s just one example of how to start a new, fun tradition!
  3. Start the new year with a bang — Don’t forget to commemorate the time that the year shifts to the next one. Count down, or watch the ball drop in NYC, or toast with a glass of champagne. Start the year with a positive action!

The atmosphere at Lookout Point is perfect for starting the new year with tranquility and close connections. With the snack bar open 24 hours a day, a large selection of movies and books, and a gourmet breakfast waiting for you the next morning, you really want to experience the pampering for yourself.

New Year’s weekend is a great time to celebrate life and love at our Hot Springs B&B! At midnight, we’ll have a glass of bubbly sparkling wine

New Year’s Toast

(our guests love the Toad Hollow Risque that we serve) for your toast, and even a pot of black eyed peas for extra good measure.

Create a memorable start to the New Year with your loved one. Here’s our suggestions for a perfect weekend:

Friday: arrive at Lookout Point & begin relaxing. Dine at Luna Bella (reservations recommended)

Saturday:  After your gourmet breakfast, visit the downtown Hot Springs National Park, and take a soak in the thermal waters at the Quapaw bath house. Explore art galleries and museums downtown

Return to the inn for the afternoon Innkeeper’s Reception (refreshments plus wine/tea). Take a little nap.

Visit the final evening of the Lights on the Landscape at Garvan Woodland Gardens with a lovely stroll through the gardens.

Enjoy a late dinner at Bohemia (continental cuisine). The New Year’s Eve special is 4 courses for only $24! Great food, and friendly service. Reservations required, and we’ll take of all concierge for you.

Midnight: celebrate at the inn with a complimentary toast and some black-eyed peas.  The night is still young! What a great way to welcome 2012.
