It’s a beautiful season to visit Arkansas.

The hiking trails at Lake Catherine & Lake Ouachita state parks are spectacular right now.

Fog shrouded Lake Hamilton throughout breakfast, then cleared to a brilliant blue sky day.  Just in time for “Captain” Ray’s boat tour of the lake.

Professional landscape and floral plein-air artists will capture the beauty of Garvan Woodland Gardens.  A reception, featuring a special showing of the art created during the event, is open to the public on Sept. 30, 6-8pm.

Each year the Lookout Point’s Christmas decor changes, and becomes even more beautiful.  These photos don’t adequately display the feel of the inn in this holiday season!  Yet the decor certainly puts us in the mood for celebrating.

Today we hosted the area innkeepers for a Christmas luncheon:  a fun time of sharing food, ideas, and gratitude for each other.

Wafting through the inn today were the peals of laughter, carols sung in three part harmony, and the delicious scent of maple praline bread pudding baking.

Fall colors, according to the Arkansas.com website, for the Hot Springs area are at peak, or just peaked.  We’re seeing orange, yellow, brown, and some red leaves.  Many trees are stunning gorgeous, and some have lost most all of their foliage.  Bottom line, it’s not too late to experience fall colors here in Hot Springs.  The inn has a limited number of rooms still available for this weekend, including a couple of rooms available for the Friday night only.

The weather should be gorgeous–a perfect time to visit Hot Springs and do some hiking.  Or napping.  Or exploring art galleries.  Or….the possibilities are endless.
