A unique departure from a beautiful wedding at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn! Stacey & Marshall brought their jet ski, and his sister created a lovely “Just Married” sign for the back of the jet ski. Their wedding clothes remained dry!
Congratulations and best wishes to Marshall and Stacey on your marriage!

- Nancy & David wed at Lookout Point
On June 1, 2009 Nancy and David exchanged vows in the gardens of Lookout Point Lakeside Inn. It was an honor to officiate at their wedding, and share in this high holy moment! Following is an excerpt from Nancy:
Just wanted to tell you how very pleased and happy we were with our wedding at your beautiful inn last week! We couldnt have asked for a more lovely setting to begin our life together. The grounds are so beautifully maintained and the romantic Hot Springs Suite was a dream come true. We will both remember the extremely touching ceremony for the rest of our lives.
I wanted Ray to see how well he did snapping photos. These are just a few of them and they will all be treasured forever.
Words can’t express how appreciative we are for the kindness and grace shown to us by you, Ray and members of your staff.
Thank you again, Nancy
We wish all the best to David and Nancy!

Congratulations to Ashley and Randy, of Memphis. This lucky couple won the June drawing for the Laid-off Getaway Giveaway provided by Lookout Point Lakeside Inn in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They’ll be staying two nights at the inn this month, and enjoying all the inn amenities, plus 1/2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries in their room. Ashley was delighted with the news! We are honored to brighten a couples’ day in this small way.
Throughout the next few months, Lookout Point Lakeside Inn will continue to select/draw one entry to receive the complimentary two-night (Sunday-Thursday) stay at the inn. To enter the Laid-off Getaway Giveaway Package drawing, send an e-mail to innkeeper@LookoutPointInn.com, to Susan’s attention. In the e-mail, please describe the circumstances of your lay-off, why you would like to stay at Lookout Point, and an employment contact in order to verify the lay-off. Good luck! The drawing is held on the last day of each month, with the winner notified on the first day of the month.

Each day for the past few weeks, Mama Duck and her ducklings arrive at the inn for breakfast and dinner, feeding under the bird feeders. Often during breakfast service, our guests enjoy the show as the Mama leads her brood up the property to the bird feeders. After a fine feast, the little family moves on to the pond and waterfalls where they swim, drink, and sometimes nap on the rocks. We’ve enjoyed watching this family grow from such tiny ducklings!

- Welcome to Lookout Point Lakeside Inn!
Although the mama is camera shy, the ducklings have been photographed by many guests. Our “resident” ducks, Lucy, Ricky and Fred (who claim Lookout Point Lakeside Inn as their home every spring-fall) have not produced any offspring this year to date. However during a recent outdoor wedding in the gardens, the trio came to the wedding and decided to attempt the mating process about 15 feet away from the bride & groom. The 3rd duck, sqwuacked so loudly that we needed to pause the wedding and simply laugh. One guest proclaimed the duck scene to be “a good omen for your marriage”.

Matthew Lovette and Mark Smith, the creative geniuses of Jumping Rocks Photography, recently completed a second photo shoot for the inn. Since their last visit 3 years ago, we’ve added the Hot Springs King Suite, Mountain View Cozy Room, the Lakeview Terrace condo, plus significantly rearranged the Romance King Suite.

Capturing great images at Lookout Point
Besides being great photographers, these guys are two of the kindest people in the world. We just love having them around. They captured incredible photos (soon to be placed on our website) of the new rooms, and also great photos of the gardens in springtime. Abundant thanks to Matthew & Mark!

Captain Ray & guests
What a glorious day for a boat ride on Lake Hamilton. Sunny, gentle breezes, blue sky, and great people. Steve & Shelley, enjoying their second stay at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn, decided to go for a ride with “Captain” Ray. Taking guests on boat tours, sharing stories about the lake’s history, pointing out the amazing mansions and their stories, is one of Ray’s favorite innkeeping tasks.
If only I could dock the boat, I’d share this hard duty with Ray.
What a great place to live and work!

The lush green gardens of Lookout Point Lakeside Inn welcomed the wedding of Aaron & Shannon on May 8. Following the rains, the gardens are bursting forth with new growth. The calm and happy couple beamed throughout the ceremony. Shannon carried the vintage family Bible, given by her mother and carried at her own wedding years ago. A nice touch! Congratulations and best wishes,

Rain rain go away. Come back another day. Even though the rain was greatly needed to drown out the pollen in the air, it makes for icky days outside. Even with all the rain, the spirit of our guests is not soggy. Just this morning we had a couple interested in hiking in the rain. We suggested they take a trip to Lake Catherine and hike to the beautiful waterfall. Since we have had so much rain the past few days, the waterfall should be flowing and make for a great place to hike to. Speaking of hiking, mentioned in an earlier Lookout Point blog, we introduced our newest package, the “waterfalls and picnic package.” This package is a very adventerous one that leads to many of the great waterfalls in Arkansas. Even though this package is intended for the sunny days of the season, it goes to show that even rainy days are great for waterfall exploring as well. Call the inn (501-525-6155) to reserve your Waterfalls & Picnic Package!

From the Dallas Morning News, April 17, 2009: 18 Romantic Getaways in Texas and Neighboring States. Special Contributor Judy Wiley writes “Exotic honeymoon choices looked good about a year ago. And then, as if brides-to-be didn’t have enough to worry about, the economic crisis slammed into their wedding budgets.” Cutting back on the dress, the wedding site, and the rings isn’t likely to happen. So Wiley suggests great honeymoon destinations in Texas and the surrounding states.
Lookout Point Lakeside Inn is featured from Arkansas, and we’re honored! Called a hot spot, and “mighty pretty”, Lookout Point offers several honeymoon packages and wedding packages. Our rooms fill up quickly in the summertime, so if you’re seeking the perfect romantic and private honeymoon site, call the inn (501-525-6155) soon.
