For five years Ricky and Lucy have arrived by mid-March. Last week we wondered, where are they?
These lovely mallards returned to their summer “home” in time to delight guests at the Innkeeper’s Reception on Friday.
Each year, these two become a bit more brave, although as you can tell from the photo Lucy still does not like to have photos taken. This morning, they dined below the bird feed while guests enjoyed their breakfast. Then off to the waterfalls & our pond for a swim and nap.
Ricky & Lucy aren’t talking about their trip, nor why they arrived more than a week late. We’re left guessing. And grateful for their appearance and the wonderful rhythm of life.

Photo selected for the Southern Living article
On Thursday we received a call from a guest, congratulating Lookout Point for selection in Southern Living Magazine’s “Best of the South”. What a delightful phone call to receive!

And the place to stay: Lookout Point! Also included is McClard’s Bar-B-Q for lunch (yummy) and relaxing at the Quapaw Baths & Spas, with dinner at Rolando’s Nuevo Latino Restaurant.
We’re truly honored and humbled to be recognized by such a great magazine. Check it out–get a copy of the new Southern Living.

It it such a great feeling to be a part of a couple’s special day, and this day was very special for Stephanie and Rodney Gibbs. According to the family of this recently married couple, their marriage has been a long time coming. The couple has been dating since they were fifteen years old, which is a trend in the family, because Stephanie’s brother and his wife also started dating when they were fifteen. An intimate ceremony took place on the peaceful labyrinth and the reception followed in the dining room. A beautiful bride and her handsome groom both gleamed with joy as members of the family came forward and toasted the newlyweds. It was a lovely wedding for this sweet couple and their loving family!
We wish you two the best of luck and a happy marriage filled with lots of love and gorgeous children. Also, best of luck with the twin girls on the way!

The upcoming festival, held October 16th-25 at the historic Malco Theatre in downtown Hot Springs., remains the only film institute in the United States dedicated solely to the documentary film genre. The festival was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1992.
The Festival shapes the identity of Arkansas nationally and internationally. The Festival committee views nearly 1,000 films submitted from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, and selects 100 to be viewed each year.
