Spa City Summer Fest 2016: JazzFest and Blues Festival

August 25th, 2016 by Ray Rosset

Spa City Summer FestThe Spa City Summer Fest will be combining two unstoppable musical forces this Labor Day–Jazz and Blues. For one weekend, you can experience two very different, active genres with a schedule that will excite and dazzle you.

Sensing that the Hot Springs Jazz Society and the Hot Springs Blues Society complement each other, they decided to join forces to celebrate the 25th Hot Springs Jazz Festival and the 20th Hot Springs Blues Festival at one time. The Jazz Festival will take place from Aug. 31 to Sept.4, while the Blues Festival will be running during the weekend from Sept. 3-4.

Although it is not the first time these two festivals have joined forces, they did work together to create a schedule that would appeal to both of their audiences. They are especially excited for Saturday’s programming, which will have both jazz and blues music playing downtown from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

As you plan your Labor Day getaway, plan to visit the Spa City Summer Fest. You can stay at Lookout Point, where you will have gorgeous views of  Lake Hamilton and gourmet breakfast every morning. Reserve your stay online or call 501.525.6155 for more information. We’d love to help you plan your vacation!

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, you can learn about the history of the musical movement at Jazz 101.
