The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival was named one of the “Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” in 2015 by “Movie Maker Magazine.” This award is a huge honor for our city and for Arkansas. The Film Festival has grown in importance and recognition and now has a prestigious distinction to add to the list of why out of town guests should come to watch the documentaries this year Oct. 9-18.
I’m really proud of the Film Festival but that’s not the reason I continue to take time to go each year. The Film Festival is great fun, extremely entertaining and educational, but most of all it makes me think. The documentaries push me out of my comfort zone and nudge me to look at my personal views on a number of diverse subjects from a different perspective. I think that might be the definition of growth at any age.
The range of subjects for the documentaries is quite broad and they are shown from morning until bedtime for 10 days at the Arlington Hotel and Low Key Arts. The Film Festival is the oldest non-fiction festival in North America. It is also an Academy Awards-qualifying festival in the category of Documentary Short Subjects. When the air is cooler and the leaves have begun to turn, add the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and you have several great reasons to come and spend a week or more with us at the Inn. Our Inn fills quickly in the fall, so make your reservations online or give us a call at 501.525.6155 and we’ll help you plan a week or more in Hot Springs at the Film Festival. The more films you see the more you will be entertained and challenged.
While you’re at the Inn we offer you a spectacular view of Lake Hamilton from every room. Our beds are extremely comfortable and each room is individually decorated with its own personality. The breakfasts are by far the best in Hot Springs and served in our lovely dining room.
The Inn is a charming bed and breakfast offering a quiet retreat after a day at the Film Festival. Often our guests spend time talking about the Film Festival with other guests and sharing the experiences of the day. #HSDFI
