Oaklawn Theater Concert Series 2014

June 17th, 2014 by Kristie Rosset

Air Supply in Hot Springs AROaklawn Racing Track is best known for its thoroughbred racing season, but Arkansans know there are a few more intriguing aspects of the site. The gaming center, for example, is open year round and gives customers the opportunity to try out their good luck.

The other part of Oaklawn that draws guests in is the Finish Line Theater. Each year, Oaklawn hosts a concert series of major acts that draw in crowds from all over the South. This year the season kicks off on June 19 with Air Supply, the famous 80’s rock duo. On Aug. 21, Aaron Neville will be playing his characteristic Cajun-infused soul music. Kenny Rogers will croon country music on Sept. 25, and 38 Special will end the series with Southern Rock on Oct. 9.

Tickets for these concerts sell fast, so you’ll want to reserve your spot ahead of time. With the wide range of genres, the series is set to give everyone something to be excited about.

When you grab your tickets for the concerts, consider adding a stay at Lookout Point. Each room has a view of Lake Hamilton, adding an element of relaxation and pampering to your trip. You can reserve your stay online or call 501.525.6155 for more information.

Three Dog Night Set To Entertain Hot Springs AR

September 19th, 2013 by Kristie Rosset

From 1969 to 1974, Three Dog Night was the most popular band in America. Lucky for Hot Springs AR, they will also be the most popular act playing on October 3, 2013.

Three Dog Night will play at Oaklawn’s Finish Line Theater, beginning at 7pm that evening. They’re sure to play some of their top hits—“Joy to the World,” “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” “Black and White,” “Shambala,” and “Easy To Be Hard,” to name a few.

During the early 70s, Three Dog Night sold 50 million records and twelve straight gold LPs; they also had twenty-one consecutive Top 40 hits. The Spa City is looking forward to hearing their favorite songs live. Tickets go on sale Sept. 23, and they will range from $10-$20.

If you are anticipating Three Dog Night’s performance, you can add a stay at Lookout Point to your concert experience. Reserve your stay online or call 501.525.6155501.525.6155 for more information.

Dionne Warwick Celebrates 50 Years of Music at Oaklawn

September 1st, 2013 by Kristie Rosset

Dionne Warwick can take me back to my childhood and teenage years in a heartbeat with her soulful music and remarkable perspective on life. I enjoy her songs immensely and I’m thrilled that she’ll be in concert in Hot Springs Sept. 12 at  the Oaklawn Finish Line Theatre.

Coming to Hot Springs!

She blends pop, gospel and R&B and transcends music boundaries in many areas including race and culture. If you grew up in the 60s and 70s, you’ll remember “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” “Walk on By,” “Promises Promises” and “Say a Little Prayer for Me.” Another of her memorable recordings was “That’s What Friends are For” with Gladys Knight, Elton John and Stevie Wonder. She is a classic you don’t want to miss at any age.

If you haven’t gotten tickets or made plans to attend her concert, then I urge you to reconsider and make this your first fall Hot Springs getaway. Get ready because Three Dog Night is also coming this fall. We’d love to have you stay at our Hot Springs B&B for the concert weekend.  Make your room reservations online or call us at 501.525.6155. Concert tickets go on sale Sept. 3. Just call 501.623.4411, extension 340 for ticket information.

  • July 19 Diamond Rio performs their show-stopping country hits. They’ve sold more than 10 million albums, receiving Grammy and Country Music awards.
  • Aug. 23 Paul Revere and The Raiders

    Fashion style?

come to Oaklawn with a style (do they still dress colonial?) and sixth sense for pleasing an audience.

  • Sept. 27 Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers take the stage representing a four-decade career from dusty Texas stages to the White House to Broadway.
  • Oct. 25 The Texas-bred band Lonestar finishes the concert series marking their 20th anniversary. The band is well known for merging their country roots with rich melodies and vocals.
