The Christmas Carol at The Rep in Little Rock

December 23rd, 2011 by Kristie Rosset

We immensely enjoyed The Christmas Carol (the musical) at Arkansas Repertory Theatre (The Rep) in Little Rock. “Our own” Adam Hose

Ray, Adam (aka Bob Crachit), Kristie, and mom

stars as Bob Cratchit, singing a tender duet with Tiny Tim. We call Adam “our own” because he is a beloved guest of Lookout Point.

Hailing from New York, whenever Adam is performing in the area, he considers our Hot Springs bed & breakfast home for an escape.

Congratulations to The Rep for a fantastic and successful production of Charles Dickens’ story of Christmas love. NOW I am ready for Christmas.

New Year’s weekend is a great time to celebrate life and love at our Hot Springs B&B! At midnight, we’ll have a glass of bubbly sparkling wine

New Year's Toast

(our guests love the Toad Hollow Risque that we serve) for your toast, and even a pot of black eyed peas for extra good measure.

Create a memorable start to the New Year with your loved one. Here’s our suggestions for a perfect weekend:

Friday: arrive at Lookout Point & begin relaxing. Dine at Luna Bella (reservations recommended)

Saturday:  After your gourmet breakfast, visit the downtown Hot Springs National Park, and take a soak in the thermal waters at the Quapaw bath house. Explore art galleries and museums downtown

Return to the inn for the afternoon Innkeeper’s Reception (refreshments plus wine/tea). Take a little nap.

Visit the final evening of the Lights on the Landscape at Garvan Woodland Gardens with a lovely stroll through the gardens.

Enjoy a late dinner at Bohemia (continental cuisine). The New Year’s Eve special is 4 courses for only $24! Great food, and friendly service. Reservations required, and we’ll take of all concierge for you.

Midnight: celebrate at the inn with a complimentary toast and some black-eyed peas.  The night is still young! What a great way to welcome 2012.

Veteran’s Day in Hot Springs

November 11th, 2011 by Kristie Rosset

We would like to thank the many military personnel who spent their Veterans’ Day with us today at Lookout Point!

We welcomed  veterans and those serving in active duty with a free Arkansas getaway in honor of their service.  Our special guests today included men and women from all branches of the military who have served in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hundreds of innkeepers participated in this B&Bs for Vets campaign, sponsored by the Better Way To Stay,  to recognize those who have made sacrifices for our freedom.

Thank you veterans!

As an on-going thanks to America’s service men and women, Lookout Point always offers a 10% discount Sunday-Thursday for active military.  We thank you for your service to our country!

Harley Wedding on Lake Hamilton

November 6th, 2011 by Kristie Rosset

A stunning autumn day greeted Norris & Karla to Lookout Point for their wedding. As a surprise to Karla, her family arrived just in time for the wedding ceremony.

Dressed in handsome Harley Davidson attire, the lovely couple exchanged vows in our gardens with Lake Hamilton providing a calm backdrop. The Harley theme

Harley Cake Topper

carried to the cake, with a cute cake topper of a wedding couple on the motorcycle. Of course, the family tied a string of cans to the back of the motorcycle

Congratulations to Karla and Norris, a wonderful and happy couple. We wish you all the best in life.

Our Hot Springs bed & breakfast provides a beautiful setting for intimate lakeside wedding on Lake Hamilton.

Fall Colors Add Beauty to Arkansas

October 30th, 2011 by Kristie Rosset

We chose  Arkansas for the site of our bed & breakfast inn, because it’s an extraordinarily beautiful state. Every autumn

Early Autumn on Lake Hamilton

I am awestruck by the sheer goodness of being here: perfect temperatures with low humidity, stunning views across the lake, and a riot of color.

Peak fall colors for our area are predicted for early to mid-November. Yet guests were still enjoying breakfast outdoors on the patio this week, while overlooking the lake and Ouachita Mountains.

For stunning yellow, red, and orange foliage, come on to Hot Springs. We’ll steer you to fantastic drives and hikes for the best views.

Labor Day Weekend Fireworks & Fun in Hot Springs

August 24th, 2011 by Kristie Rosset

Labor Day Weekend, traditionally seen as the close to the summer season, finds lots of fun events in Hot Springs. Of course, water sports tops the list of a great way to relax and say farewell to summer.  If you’re planning to rent a boat, do so right away!

Friday evening check out Gallery Walk in the historic downtown. You’ll see gorgeous art in all prices, meet the artists, and sip a glass of wine. Fun!

Saturday morning our own “Capt. Ray” provides a 90-minute boat tour of Lake Hamilton for guests of our Hot Springs bed & breakfast. Hear the stories of the mansions, and history of the lake.

Fireworks over Lake Hamilton

Fireworks over Lake Hamilton explode on Sunday evening. I love to hear the resounding echoes of the fireworks, bouncing around the lake, off the docks, and the mountains! The best fireworks viewing is from either J&S Italian Villa (reserve early!) or the Bell Riverboat fireworks cruise.
