Hot Springs is the perfect city to host the Arkansas Senior Olympics. Both “Places to Retire” and “Modern Maturity” magazines rank Hot Springs as one of the best places to retire in the U.S. I like the nice mix of age groups in our city. It’s a great place for people of all ages to live and thrive.
Many senior adults are living longer and longer and are focused on staying healthy and in shape. Arkansas Senior Olympics is certainly one of the outstanding organizations in the state working hard to help older folks continue to have an incredible quality of life and achieve their health goals. As you probably know, I fit into the category of senior, but I have no idea how that happened so quickly in life!
The first round of events for the Olympics includes bean bag baseball on Sept. 19 and cycling Sept. 21-22. Then in October the Senior Olympic games take place Oct. 2-6 and include quite a diverse set of events, from badminton to pole vaulting. Participants only have to be 45 to participate. The 45-49 bracket is cleverly designated “The Kids.”
If I’ve piqued your interest in participating or in spectating, make plans soon to be here in September, October or both and stay at the most luxurious and restful place in Arkansas at our Hot Springs B&B.
We have wonderful, relaxing rooms, most with whirlpool baths and a stunning view of Lake Hamilton from each balcony or patio. Make reservations online or call us at 501.525.6155. For information on the Arkansas Senior Olympics. These photos shatters some conceptions about aging!
