The hat was passed, raising dollars for Heifer Project International. The evening included a Cuban dinner, delightfully prepared by Shari.
Our Body, The Universe Within: Until January 5th

The national traveling display of the Human Body at the Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs demonstrates in amazing ways the agility and magnificence of the human body. Many Lookout Point Lakeside Inn guests enjoyed this exhibit. The entire museum provides fun and entertainment for folks of all ages. The interactive displays encourage hands-on exploration, from making electricity, creating a tornado, or climbing.

Wed at Lookout Point, Now 5th Anniversary!
December 22nd, 2008 by kristierosset
Doug & Donna, of Little Rock, were married 5 years ago at Lookout Point in this very same spot–in front of the fireplace. When they entered the inn 5 years ago, scouting out a Hot Springs location for their wedding, Donna knew immediately that this was the place. Since then, these wonderful guests have become dear friends of Lookout Point.
Each year, Donna & Doug have returned to Lookout Point for their anniversary, and on other occasions. As a traditionalist, Doug wanted “their’ room each stay–the Romance Room, but with Donna’s encouraging they’ve also stayed in Evening Shade, Lakeview Terrace Condo, and the Hot Springs Room. These special guests have learned the names of every Lookout Point staff member. Donna & Doug provided consulting services to the inn, assisting Ray & Kristie in finding the perfect people to work at the iinn and share the mission & vision of the inn.
Happy Anniversary, Doug & Donna
Gallery Walk in Hot Springs
December 20th, 2008 by kristierosset
One of our many favorite events in Hot Springs is the monthly Gallery Walk, held the first Friday of every month from 5-9pm. Many guests are surprised to learn that Hot Springs has been named the 4th top arts community in the U.S. (right behind Santa Fe, NM).
The excellent art galleries downtown are all open for gallery walk, and many serve refreshments throughout the evening. You’ll find original art in all prices ranges, with much of the art created by outstanding local artists. Here’s a few of our favorite galleries that are a must visit during Gallery Walk: Blue Moon, Gallery Central, Alison Parsons, Legacy, Dolores Justis, and the Arts Cooperative.
Stroll these downtown art galleries, meet a few artists, and top off the evening dining at one of the excellent Hot Springs restaurants. Or, pick up a meal to go, and return to the inn for your own romantic and private dinner setting.
Celebrate New Year's Eve in Hot Springs
December 14th, 2008 by kristierosset
Make plans soon to kick off 2009 magnificently with a stay at Lookout Point and a great dinner at one of Hot Springs superb restaurants. Some of our favorites for New Year’s Eve are Central Park Fusion, Chef Paul’s, and J & S Italian Villa. (see www.centralparkfusion.com for their New Year’s specials). Of course, Lookout Point staff will take care of all reservations, including scheduling a taxi if desired.
Many folks travel to Lookout Point to usher in the New Year quietly, spending the evening with loved ones, playing board games, watching movies, or snuggling by the fireplace.
All guests are invited to the lobby at midnight to celebrate with a champagne toast, compliments of Lookout Point!
May hope, peace and abundance fill your life in 2009!
Winter Highway in Manitoba…not Hot Springs!
December 14th, 2008 by kristierosset
No, this photo is NOT from Arkansas!!! Innkeeper Ray is visiting him mother in Manitoba, Canada, and the photo accuarately depicts his driving conditions yesterday. While it’s a balmy 64 degrees in Hot Springs today, Ray reported that he is freezing cold with the temperature of -23 degrees, and windchill of MINUS 43 degrees F. Skin freezes upon brief exposure at that temperature!
I shall not complain about any chilly days in Hot Springs, for it’s really all relative. Instead, I’m grateful to live in the south and especially in this lovely town with gracious people.

Christmas decor at Lookout Point

The inn, dressed in the Christmas finest, sparkles from every angle. More than 40 poinsettias grace the staircase and foyer, leading to the magnificent tree. Come see!
Ice Skating in downtown Hot Springs
December 13th, 2008 by kristierosset
Ice skating outdoors in Arkansas? You bet! In the Hot Springs National Park in the historic downtown, visitors enjoy ice skating outdoors through December 31. You won’t see many great skaters, however you will see a lot of people laughing, practicing their turns, and falling. Come to Hot Springs, stay at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn, and celebrate winter.
