We want to honor twelve teachers who positively “Impact the World” by influencing children through peace, justice, or environmental initiatives! All teachers in all grade levels are eligible. Let us know how your favorite teacher Impacts the World with really cool ideas (such as anti-racism, embracing differences, or saving the earth).
The winning teachers will win a weekend for two at our award-winning bed & breakfast inn on December 3-5, 2010. The weekend includes two nights at the inn, gourmet breakfast each morning, afternoon Innkeeper’s Reception, and admission for two to the amazing Garvan Gardens Wonderland of Lights.

Need to relax?
Lookout Point Lakeside proudly announces the September winner of the monthly Laid-Off Getaway Giveaway package. Tiffany and her husband, from Texas, won the two night package. Her letter and story touched at our heartstrings, and we are honored to provide a place of relaxation and romance for them.
The Laid-Off Getaway Giveaway continues through the end of 2009, with one package given each month. The package includes a two night stay for two persons at the inn on Sunday-Thursday nights, gourmet breakfast each morning, and the chance to spend wonderful time together as you are pampered by the staff of Lookout Point.

Relax with dinner at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn
Fall is just weeks away, and it’s one of my very favorite seasons! There’s a hint of coolness in the air at night, the humidity is down, and relaxing outside in the gardens of Lookout Point delights the senses.
If you can getaway throughout September, we’re offering to provide your dinner for one night: complimentary! Many guests tell us that they don’t want to leave the inn, even to go eat. To accommodate this request, we started serving simple and healthy fare from 11am-9pm. A bowl of soup, organic green salad, or sandwich (chicken salad on croissant or grilled ham & cheese or grilled turkey & cheese) provide a lovely “dining in” experience. You can sit by the waterfalls, and relax.
Stay two weeknights (Sun -Thur) in September, and you’ll receive a complimentary dinner for two (choice of two selections each). The September Special is not available with any other promotions, and must be mentioned at the time of reservation.

It’s back to school season, and perhaps you’d like to sneak away for a couple of days before life gets too hectic. We’re offering an August Special: stay two nights anytime through the end of August. You’ll receive one-half dozen chocolate covered strawberries in your room awaiting your arrival, plus a chilled bottle of French Sparkling Wine (Risque by Toad Hollow) or a chilled bottle of sparkling juice.
As an added bonus, the gardens are still lush and green. From our Texas friends and guests, especially around the Austin area, we hear how dry and brown the earth is from the continuing drought. That certainly isn’t the situation here on Lake Hamilton! We’d love to see you, and hope you can get away for an end of summer trip.

The new Lookout Point cookbooks, “Abundant Gratitude II,” have finally arrived. The first “Abundant Gratitude” appeared in 2004. Over the years new recipes have been served for breakfast, and guest began requesting that another cookbook should be made. So Kristie created a second collection of yummy recipes. This cookbook reflects the nature of the life and work at Lookout Point.
New cookbooks can be purchased for $18 at the inn, or you can call the inn at 501-525-6155 and we would be delighted to mail you an “Abundant Gratitude II.”

Congratulations to Ashley and Randy, of Memphis. This lucky couple won the June drawing for the Laid-off Getaway Giveaway provided by Lookout Point Lakeside Inn in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They’ll be staying two nights at the inn this month, and enjoying all the inn amenities, plus 1/2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries in their room. Ashley was delighted with the news! March 24-31, 2009, come see the amazing tulips in full bloom.
Approximately 100,000 vibrantly hued tulips will grace the Flowering Border and Camelia Trail at Garvan Woodland Gardens this spring. This lavish floral display is one of the most anticipated events of the year.
Stay at Lookout Point for 2 nights between Sunday, March 22- Thursday,March 26 OR Sunday March 28 – April 2, you’ll receive two COMPLIMENTARY admission tickets to the Garvan Gardens. Just mention this offer at time of reservation, and not valid with any other discounts.
The Garvan Gardens are quickly becoming an international destination. This 210 acre woodland botanical garden astounds visitors with their beauty. It’s one of our favorite places to visit in Hot Springs. I’m looking forward to taking my one-year-old grandson for photos in the tulips.
Guests often ask how long it takes to see the gardens. To walk all of the trails, and the bird sanctuary, one could spend all day. Generally, we plan to spend a couple of hours and focus on different parts of the gardens each time we visit.
