Church Group Meets at Lookout Point, Hot Springs

April 30th, 2009 by kristierosset

Companions In Christ Study GroupCompleting the 27-week Companions in Christ study, this terrific group celebrated at Lookout Point with further study, lunch, the sacrament of Holy Communion, and a labyrinth walk.  Thanks to Darby, the group facilitator, for choosing Lookout Point as their site for their final group meeting.  The class presented Darby with a dogwood tree, in thanksgiving for her leadership.

What a joy to have this wonderful group here at the inn for the day!  The inn is a perfect setting for small groups, up to 20 persons, to meet.  The beautiful setting inspires creativity.

Lakeside Wedding at Lookout Point, Hot Springs

A post-wedding kiss

A post-wedding kiss

Jessica & Seth exchanged vows under the shelter of the porch last Saturday with loving parents in attendance. Following the wedding ceremony and cutting of the cake, the rain ceased. The weather break provided a great opportunity for photos in the gardens. Check out the Jessica & Seth’s umbrella photo on our weddings page photo gallery.  I know that I keep repeating myself, but Lookout Point welcomes the NICEST people in whole world.  Jessica & Seth are two great folks, and we wish them great happiness.

Inaugural "Spot of Tea" on Thursday in Hot Springs

March 26th, 2009 by kristierosset

Inaugural Tea on Thursday at Lookout PointLookout Point Lakeside Inn hosted the first “Spot of Tea on Thursday” today!   Attendees enjoyed the teas, freshly baked butterscotch scones, petite fours, curried chicken tea sandwiches, and cucumber finger sandwiches.  In addition, a tour of the inn and gardens provided an overview of the inn.  Most importantly, these friends savored time and conversation with each other in a soothing environment.

Picture here are Rita, Elveda, and Darla, along with innkeepers Kristie & Tricia, while Sharon snapped the photo.  These friends gathered from various Arkansas towns to shop Hot Springs and sip tea at Lookout Point.   Thanks for helping to make the fist “Spot of Tea on Thursday” a successful and fun endeavor!

Mother & Daughter getawayLarie & Abby, from the Dallas area, enjoyed a weekend away from responsibilities and work.   After two days of pampering, including a soak in the Hot Springs thermal mineral waters and great dining at Central Park Fusion, the duo returned home refreshed.  What a great way to spend time with one of the most important persons in your life–your mom or daughter.  Thanks for coming to Lookout Point, friends!     –Kristie

Xiaoo & Monica in Hot Springs, Arkansas

It was a joy to welcome Xiaoo & Monica to Lookout Point. Originally from China, Xiaoo is attending law school in the states, and they were able to get away to the inn during spring break. Meeting great people from all over the world is one the true joys of innkeeping! We hope they will come back soon, and wish them all the best.

At breakfast, other guests dining at a nearby table shared stories of their experiences living and visiting in China. The other guests were driving across the entire U.S.! Now they’re hooked on staying at inns, and already reserved their next stop at another Select Registry bed & breakfast inn.

Every day I am filled with gratitude for the good fortune of doing what I love–innkeeping. And I get to live this “work” with my husband of 34 years, Ray. Life is good.

Gordan & Melba

Gordon & Melba, frequent guests at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn, chose to celebrate Gordon’s 80th birthday at the inn. What an honor to wish this fine man a “Happy Birthday” on his big day! And they fell in love with a room new to them…the Romance Room.

May we all be so fortunate to be as healthy, fit, and bright as Gordon! No one would guess that he is now an octagenarian. Congratulations, and all the best wishes from your friends at Lookout Point.
