I’ve had the pleasure of eating delicious Southern cooking for years prepared by Lula Barnes, mother of one of my long-time friends, Larie Barnes Engles. Mrs. Barnes of Forest City, Arkansas was always the expert on cooking in the Barnes family, and she was the go-to person anytime her children or grandchildren had questions on recipes. She passed some of her delicious recipes on to her family and we have the privilege of sharing her recipes and preparing a few of them during our June cooking class.
My friend Larie Engles will teach the class on techniques and cooking several of her mother’s recipes and I will assist. If you have always loved Southern cooking and would like to learn a little more on preparation, please sign up for Cooking School for June 27. We’ll have a great time cooking together and we’ll probably have stories to share on some of our recipes.
The class is from 11 am until 3pm on June 27 in the kitchen at our Hot Springs inn. The cost is $70 with a reduced price if you’re also a guest at the Inn. All of the food we will be preparing are mouth-watering terrific, flavorful and oh-so-satisfying! The recipes we will prepare are:

- Eggplant Rosa
- Peach Cobbler
