Last week Ray & I were in a little Manitoba, Canada town to bury his 95 year old mother, and to celebrate anamazing life. The temps were about -15 F, and at the snow covered graveside the rose petals froze before we could place them! And then we returned to Arkansas, where in the middle of the bleak cold winter pops a bright yellow happy daffodil, and the phlox is in bloom. It catches me off guard each winter and always gives me a reason to hope. I love everything about the beautiful first blooming flowers with the promise of spring and warmer weather.
A single flower is stunning; a whole field of daffodils is breathtaking. Daffodil Days at Garvan Gardens continues through March 16. At this time (the end of February) 250,000 daffodils in several shades of yellow and orange will make their emergence from the winter Earth. You don’t want to miss this grand entrance of Spring!
Please add a stay at Lookout Point Inn to your fun daffodil excursion. Call us at 501-525-6155 for reservations and we’ll make sure your trip is one to remember. Stay 3 nights in March, and you will receive Garvan Gardens admission for two complimentary.
